Musical theatre fans are celebrating. 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Norman Jewison's film based on the iconic rock musical that narrates the last days of the life of Jesus of Nazareth.
A MESSIANIC RETURN
If there is one thing that stands out about this spectacular production, apart from its special staging with more than fifty live actors, it is its unique story. It is worth noting that rehearsals for the musical began long before it could be performed on stage. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, its performance fell short of success, resulting in its cancellation and the return of all tickets sold. A hard blow for the entire cast and its director, Carlos Ruiz Hermosilla, who saw all their effort and dedication lost in the void of oblivion.

But, almost as if it were a revelation, three years later the project that initially seemed cursed rose from the ashes. With a new energy and an almost completely renewed cast, Colectivo Teatral de Sagrados Corazones finally managed to bring out this show that has captivated everyone who has seen it.
